How to Pack Shoes and Hats Efficiently Before Your House Move

Relocating and fun don't go together; rather, they are the complete opposite of one another because moving requires a lot of money and effort to discover the best removalists and move the entire household. The stress of saying goodbye to friends and family might make you act in the worst possible ways. But if you do it with your buddies, with some music playing in the background and some delicious food nearby, it can be fun. In addition, you can utilise the packaging to pass the time when packing up the home items.

Packing shoes and hats can be tricky due to their awkward shapes and potential fragility.

However, with a few tips and tricks, you can pack your shoes and hats efficiently and securely.

Shoes:

Clean Your Shoes: Before packing your shoes, clean them thoroughly. This prevents dirt from being transferred to other items and also ensures that your shoes are ready to wear at your new place.

Sort Your Shoes: Take inventory of your shoes and decide which ones you want to keep, donate, or throw away. There's no use in packing and moving shoes you don't wear anymore.

Use Shoe Boxes: If you still have the original shoe boxes, use them for packing. They provide good protection and make stacking in moving boxes easier.

Wrap Shoes Individually: For those without boxes, use packing paper or bubble wrap to individually wrap each shoe. This will protect them from scratches and scuffs during transit.

Fill Shoes with Paper: Fill the inside of your shoes with crumpled packing paper. This will help them keep their shape during the move.

Pack in Layers: When packing shoes in a box, start with the heaviest shoes at the bottom. Use a layer of packing paper or bubble wrap in between layers of shoes for added protection.

Label Boxes: Don't forget to label each box with the contents and the room it belongs to. This will make unpacking easier.

Hats:

Clean Your Hats: Like with removals, clean your hats before packing them. This will prevent dirt from transferring and ensure your hats are ready to wear at your new place.

Use Hat Boxes: Hat boxes are the best way to protect your hats during a move. If you don't have hat boxes, you can buy them online or at specialty packing stores.

Fill the Crown: For hats that can be easily crushed, fill the crown of the hat with crumpled packing paper or tissue paper to help it maintain its shape.

No Stacking: Unlike shoes, hats should not be stacked on top of each other, especially if they are not in hat boxes. Instead, wrap them individually in tissue paper and place them side by side in a box.

Packing in Boxes: For larger hats or those with brims, you may need to use larger boxes. Ensure the hat doesn't touch the sides of the box, and use packing material to fill any empty spaces to prevent the hat from moving.

Label Boxes: Remember to label each box with the contents and the room it belongs to for easier unpacking.

Finally, remember to take care when lifting and transporting boxes packed with shoes and hats, as heavy boxes can easily be dropped or tipped. Happy moving! We provide the best movers with a simple booking process. So let us assist you in making your move stress-free.
